The reason for naming the film 'Retribution' was very simple. I wanted to create a very interesting and yet mysterious film, what sprung to mind was a man falling into the wrong mess and being affected in ways he can't imagine, this title sprung to mind immediately. I felt that it had a strong relation with the storyline, the audience can almost empathize with the character and therefore I felt it was affective.
Another reason would be that there was an instant link between the term 'Retribution' and what took place on screen. The main character was clearly having problems in his life and to top it all off he gets kidnapped for no real apparent reason, for some people this may be enough to push someone over the edge, after the ending you can clearly see that he is one of those people.
